Managing your career and personal life can be challenging at times. Identifying your personal brand and values, living your Christian faith at work, and balancing family and career can be daunting.

Before embarking on your next job search, you need to understand who you are, what strengths you possess, and what values are non-negotiable in your life. This foundation will allow you to be more confident in your career choices, be bold in your faith, and navigate through job changes that may or may not have been your choice. Focusing on interview styles in the ever-changing landscape of the business world will help you gain confidence as you look toward your next opportunity.

This 5-course series will allow you to focus on the things that matter most; faith, family, and career.

Offering Outline

Session 1: Define your personal brand and know your values Before embarking on your next job search, you need to understand who you are, what strengths you possess, and what values are nonnegotiable in your life. This session will help you identify your personal brand; who you are and how others see you in a work environment. It will provide clarity on what values you are looking for in an employer, and what you need to avoid.

Session 2: Living your Christian faith in the business world Being bold in your faith at work is becoming more and more challenging. We are all called into a vocation to serve and witness, and yes, this can be done in a corporate business environment. This session will explore ways to identify faith moments at work, and what to do in situations that may be moving against your Christian values.

Session 3: Balancing family and career, how to make it all work Life is busy. Work is hard. Family is everything. Sound familiar? In today’s world we are supposed to “have it all” yet that may not be possible. We’ll walk through ways to identify when to be all in with your career, when family needs to be first, and how to make it all work.

Session 4: Navigating career change Sometimes careers don’t play out the way we hope. Downsizing happens, career interests change, managers move on, relocations take place. Working through career changes, both wanted and unwanted, can be challenging. This session will work through how to handle change and make the most of new opportunities.

Session 5: Interviewing in today’s world Interviewing is not what it used to be. Where do you see yourself in 5 years is not the only thing employers are interested in. Behavioral interviewing is now the norm, and companies spend a lot of time trying to determine if you “fit” in their organization. We’ll review some common behavioral interview approaches and share tips for preparing for interviews, both in person and virtual.
